Due to the "wintry mix" that we got today, my neighborhood is a solid sheet of ice. I got stuck in the intersection on the walk back from the bus stop and a neighbor helped me cross the street because I was sliding all over the place. I don't know how I'm supposed to get to work tomorrow - more freezing rain is on the way! Yay!!!

Also, I made brownies tonight and they're taking forever to cool. Irony is cruel.

I'm not usually one to shill products, but I'm totally in love with the following:

Dylan's Candy Bar Ice Creme Scrub in Chocolate Cupcake - This stuff is seriously dangerous but does wonderful things to the skin

Boots No. 7 Quick Thinking 4-in-1 Wipes - I'm too lazy to wash my face before bed and these are the best wipes I've tried. I have sensitive skin and these aren't overly drying and they do a great job removing eye makeup.

Mint Chocolate m&ms - I don't need to provide a link to them, as you all should know what they are, but they are like little crack balls in a candy dish. Minty crack balls. Delicious minty crack balls.

Also, if you ran a pizza place and went to the trouble of putting your menus in people's mailboxes several times over a month, wouldn't you at least deliver to that house? I got all excited about trying a new place and they don't even deliver here. Phooey.

I was going to make brownies tonight but don't have enough butter and can't be bothered to leave the house. This is where having a car would make life much easier. Crud.

Alright, that's all I got.

I have to get my rear in gear and get breakfast made and then get a shower and get ready to go dogsit all day. No turkey for me, but I'll be just fine (but if anyone wants to take pity on me and send me lots of stuffing and pie, that would be accepted). Hope you all have a wonderful day doing whatever it is you have planned to do and I hope that your stretchy pants hold up.

Yes, I'm recycling, but it's not to when this is such a classic.

Lebowski Fest Chicago 2009: Speed of Sound

The Lebowski Fest was on September 13. There was a burlesque show before the movie, and a really horrible noise band. Liam was there and he did his little move. It was a very exciting night.

20.5 Days!!!

I'd like to fall into a coma for the next 19 days, please.

Vacation can't get here soon enough. No disasters or anything, but I'm just so tired and ready to get away. I haven't taken a proper vacation since August 2007, so this is definitely necessary. The weight of the world has been on my shoulders for far too long - I need me some hot tub time!!!

Also, there are no dessert type items in the house and I could kill for a cookie or some ice cream. Notice how I said "kill" and not "Walk the 2 blocks to the 7-11 to buy something" - one is definitely more preferable than the other. I'll sacrifice my roommate's life for a pint of Ben & Jerry's, or at least some Oreos.

Let's see...nothing else going on. I've been reading about economics and I'd like to travel back in time and kick Milton Friedman's ass. I'm sad about Edward Kennedy. I need to get to the movie theater to see The Hangover, Inglorious Basterds, Extract and some other movies. Sur la Table has Le Creuset items on sale and I want to buy a stockpot. My ultra cheap Ikea couch (bought 3 years ago and I got my money's worth) has officially reached the highly uncomfortable stage. Sigh.

Okay, that's enough. Further updates as events warrant.

EDIT: I've been using the Books area to keep track of all the books I've read so far this year, and the Amazon snafu still isn't fixed. I'm venturing that it isn't ever going to be. That means I have to find somewhere else to list my books - crud.
