It's 3:08 and I just got back from a midnight screening. I have to get up for work in 3 hours, and I'm quite sure that I won't sleep, but man...
This movie is great. Heath Ledger was amazing, the chaos unleashed in Gotham was monumental, and Jim Gordon was really strong. Chicago looked like a lovely lady in it too - quite the travel advertisement.
I was an extra in the funeral scene when they were shooting it, but I'm not visible. Oh well - it was still amazing. And I'm not easily amazed.
The ferry situation nearly had me in tears - the statements made about humanity were scary, true, and ultimately redeeming.
Now to try to sleep...

My best friend got married yesterday. It was a beautiful day.
The ceremony itself was touching and very personal, but the reception is where they went all out in sharing themselves with friends and family.
Everyone got action figures as favors. The placemats were pages from comic books. The table names were related to various forms of nerdiness (I was at the Square Pegs table). There were cardboard stand-ups of Homer Simpson, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Indiana Jones, and Frodo Baggins.
There were millions of chocolate covered strawberries, a build-your-own sundae bar, and cake.
The guest book was a scrapbook where we got to cut and paste and make our own pages to commemorate the day.
The best part of the day was sharing it with my best friend.

1. What was I doing 10 years ago?
I was living in Pittsburgh, working on a Master's Degree in Library Science full-time, working at Starbucks full-time, and living with a compulsive liar full-time. I was a semester away from finishing school when I quit, Starbucks lasted until early 2000, and the Liar got kicked to the curb in early 1999.
2. What are 5 things on my "To Do" list for today?
I'm going to cheat a bit since today is over for me, so I'll give you my list for tomorrow.
1. Bring dvds to work for Caitlyn
2. Clean the litterbox
3. De-kiki fur the couch
4. Buy milk
5. Give bathroom quick cleaning
(Why yes, my life IS as exciting as it seems)
3. Snacks I enjoy:
Popcorn, chips and salsa/guacamole, virtually any sort of chocolate, exotic potato chips (Spicy Thai Kettle Chips, Buffalo Wing Chips from Target, Steak Chips that are impossible to find outside Western PA)
4. Things I would do if I were a billionaire:
Pay off all my debt and that of my parents and one of my sisters; pay off my best friend's student loans and help him get his business off the ground; buy a house in Chicago, a car, real furniture, get more tattoos, travel since I've hardly been anywhere, and start an animal sanctuary like Best Friends but not in the middle of nowhere Utah and surround myself with kitties and doggies and other critters that need help. And bathe in champagne and eat diamonds for breakfast. Also, I will bathe in the blood of virgins to keep my skin young-looking and wrinkle-free.
