Random Tuesday Things
Some pictures of posies from my morning walk to the bus:
Inspired by grumblebunny's post about the wonders of Orangina, I had one with lunch. It's been a while since I've savored it, and this was greatly appreciated.
This is the famous baklava of food-ku #5. The Daley Center (our civil court house) has festivals all summer - this week's is the Chicago Sister Cities Festival. I had a delicious proscuitto and gruyere sandwich for lunch (Thank you, Paris) and the baklava (Thank you, Amman, Jordan). I think tomorrow's lunch will be from Jordan, as koufta sounds too good to pass up.
To wrap up the tale of my day, the copy of "God is Not Great" by Christopher Hitchens that I ordered is on backorder, and I went to dinner at my roommate's place of work and stuffed myself to the gills. My only complaint is that I should have ordered the veal as we got everything for free (I was iffy going in as I wasn't sure). The service was almost too attentive - I was half expecting someone to pop up every time I had to wipe my mouth. I had chocolate ganache cake for dessert, and my roommate told me that my cake is better. That was very nice to hear.
Now to head to bed and hope kiki has all that cat shit out of her system. What a day!
