I have half a loaf of italian bread at home, and I can't manage to choke down any more grilled cheese, so french toast it is! Plus, I'm single and cook for myself, so it's a special occasion anytime I want it to be :)
I took a 4-H cooking class back in middle school, and french toast was one of the things we learned. My family was the benefactor of many a breakfast treat, but there was one time that I mistook the paprika for nutmeg - boy was my sister angry! :)
All my 4-H experiences involved livestock. I could get you the eggs and milk, if you did something with them. We joked that while most teenagers got jobs in food service, we worked in food production.
My mom's a Home Economist so I blame her for not teaching me how to make French Toast. Hell, I don't even make JellO.
I've never heard it other than papREEka. That kid was smoking crack.
MMB - Arizona later this summer? I'll pay the French Toast Fee in margaritas. Must let me know when you are headed out here. Are you visiting our dear friend David or coming out for a reason not nearly as fun?
CP: I say papREEKa. Those teenagers are hostile when they're in their spice phase :)
Amy: The plan is to visit David for a few days and another old friend in Tucson for a few too - right around Labor Day. And yes, I'm questioning my sanity at going there at the end of summer - it's in the 80s here and I'm dying! :)
Actually, the lack of humidity does help tremendously. You can say "It's only supposed to be 102 this weekend" and someone will reply, "Really? That will be nice."
My hair has never been more manageable, but my skin is drier than I'd like. I'll still take the non-frizzy hair.
I'm supposed to be here over Labor Day. We'll mos def hook up.

"I'm on a roll!"
That's only four syllables.

Val: It is French Toast...
Amy: I can hold a seminar when I'm out in AZ later this summer - enrollment materials will be arriving shortly, and it's for a modest fee...
You win this round... :-D
is it a kaiser roll? or a cinnamon roll?
and do you people say PAPrikka or papREEEka?
I say papREEka.
I'd never even heard it said the other way until some teenager looked at me like I had monkeys on my face when I said it "wrong".
